Brief history of Obrascón
1911 On May 15, the company Sociedad General de Obras y Construcciones Obrascón, S.A. is incorporated in Bilbao.
1912 First work: two docks in the Port of Lisboa. From 1953 through 1973 it is owned by Banco de Bilbao, and later on it is passed to Altos Hornos de Vizcaya.
1987 Juan-Miguel Villar Mir along with José Luis García Villalba and other industry professionals purchase Obrascón.
1991 The corporation is listed.
Breve Historia de Huarte
1927 It was set up in Pamplona by two families: Huarte and Malumbres. It is run by Félix Huarte, achieving a privileged position in the industry ranking.
1996 Obrascón becomes an industrial partner.
1998 In January, the merger becomes effective. Thus, the sixth construction group of the country is born.
Breve Historia de Lain
1963 Construcciones Lain is established as subsidiary of the British group John Laing Construction.
1988 A group of professionals purchases 90% of the company and changes its name to Construcciones Lain.
1991 It begins to go public.
1999 In May, it becomes part of ObrascónHuarte. ObrascónHuarteLain, S.A. (OHL) is incorporated.
